More About Stephanie:

Hello, I am Stephanie Gurley of Martins Mill, Texas. I have been “Refreshed In His Spirit”! I am blessed that God extended my life 30 years ago after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was operable and I am here to share that life with others. I am who I am by the grace of God and with a touch of His refreshing spirit. I am happily married with four children, and nine beautiful grandchildren. It is my joy to teach and encourage students through my water ministry. All the work I do with swimming and in my personal life is not because I have to, “IT IS BECAUSE I GET TO”.

I look forward to every summer like a little kid waiting to unwrap a present. It is a wonderful gift for me to have the opportunity to swim and work with everyone that God places in my path. I want to get to know all my children and adults so that when I gaze into their eyes, I too have seen their beauty and learned from them. What a blessing to touch a child’s life but the greater blessing is the lives that touch me. I enjoy teaching others what I have learned and learn more than I teach. May I leave a positive mark on everyone that I come in contact with and give God the Glory in everything I do.

It is my mission to share the joy and appreciation of life, not only my life and the life of another but the lives of all. That means those that tend to be ignored, left out, and not recognized. I am speaking of the special needs children. They too deserve the right to experience and receive the joy of the day when the day is over. It is my desire to give them that opportunity to experience and fulfill their potential. An aquatic program can help meet their desire for challenge, success, recognition, accomplishment and social activity. Swimming and aquatic exercise in particular have great rehabilitative value for individuals of all ages and health conditions. Therefore, it is my goal to provide what I can to them and to educate all I can about water, in order to save a life.
